APA Fairfield County is pleased to announce it's Division Rep program!! 
 
                                                    
      

·       Attend Division Representative meetings during the league year.

·       Conduct a Team Captains meeting a few weeks before the start of each new session. This meeting will be used to inform Team Captains of any rule changes or other pertinent information.

·       Ensure Captain and player feedback is shared with the league office.

·       Help locations/teams/APA in recruiting new players and/or finding new locations.

·       Inform teams of upcoming events and activities and encourage player participation

·       Keep League Operators informed on any problems/issues that arise in the division, such as, if any team or player is demonstrating bad sportsmanship or thought to be manipulating their handicap. 

Participation:

·       Play on a team in your division.

·       Know the Rules: Division Reps are the first point of contact for players. Division Reps should know APA rules and By-laws.  Rule books and By-laws can be accessed on the website or may be requested from the league office. If you are ever unsure of something, please feel free to give us a call ??

·       Help new teams learn rules and feel comfortable

·       Have important forms available for teams as needed (Membership Applications, Handicap Review Forms, etc..) and share newsletters and announcements with them.

·       Encourage teams in the division to return Team Registrations forms in a timely manner. 

Division Leadership:

·       Run at least one (1) singles board per session.

·       Help at special events and tournaments

·       Help with trophies, plaques, etc.

·       Attend Session Playoffs to ensure playoffs run smoothly

·       Observe and write up Skill Level reviews as needed

·       Remember as a Division Rep, you are the “face” of the APA to the players.  APA rules apply to you too, and as a leader, you are held to higher standards.

Benefits:

·       Leadership in the league.

        ·       Your APA annual membership will be paid by the league.
 

·       Open invitation to play in all tournaments (MVP, or other “earned entry” tournaments).

·       Earn Division Rep Benefits such as;

§ Recruit New Team - $50

§ Start New Division - $250

§ Complete a Division - $100 (add a 4th team to help start a new or struggling division)

§ Qualify Players for Regionals - $25 off a singles board you play in or for running a full board of 8 players (no BYES) keep $25 

*To receive credit either the player, captain or team must let us know who referred them or you may contact us directly to assist the player, captain, or team with being added to the division/schedule 

Everyone has unique strengths & weaknesses. The Division Rep program allows you to do what you enjoy and are good at while contributing to the growth and management of Fairfield County CT APA.  

Ø    Benefits and responsibilities may change from session to session. All Division Representatives will be informed of changes. 

Ø    League Operators may change the number of Division Reps as the number of divisions change, which may change the teams assigned.

Ø    League operators may remove a Division Representative from their position at any time.

Ø    Division Representatives may be voted out by players/teams in the division if cause is noted as worthy by League Operators. 

New Player = player paying annual membership that has not been active player for at least 2 years. They must use the 1st match free card, join an open format (8 or 9 ball) team, and play at least 4 matches to qualify. 

New Captain = a new player (described above) who becomes captain of a new team (described below) 

New Team = Open format (8 or 9 Ball) team of at least 5-8 players with at least 4 new players on the roster. The team must play at least 6 weeks, finish the session and have all Team Dues paid in full for the session to qualify. 

New Division = Any Open format (8 or 9 Ball) division started on a new night (or area) with at least 4 teams. The division must play at least 12 weeks before receiving credit. **REMINDER: Divisions can be started at any time it does not have to wait for a new session 

Working a Tournament = We need help with check-in, live stream, raffles. etc... Shifts are about 5 hours and include a free T-shirt. 

Qualifier Board = You may Run a Singles or Splash Board at any time! We will provide the board and scoresheets. You must verify eligibility, collect money, and turn in to the office in a timely manner (usually about a week). Cost breakdown will be provided to you.

v Build a 5/6-team division playing any night of the week in one of the following formats 8-ball, 9-ball, or Masters.

 

 v The division that you build must be new teams to the league or existing teams that decide to play another night. You will not get credit for existing teams that move to your new division.  

v Any supplies you need to build a division may be printed from the website or requested from the league office i.e., New Team Rosters, Posters and Membership Applications.
