APA Singles Program

APA conducts an annual singles program that is challenging, fun, and potentially lucrative for APA members. The program consists of three levels of competition. At the Local level, players compete on singles boards (mixed group of SLs) for a chance to advance to the Regional level. At the Regional level, players from different league areas meet to compete against other players around their same SL. Winners advance to the Poolplayer Championship where over $600,000 in cash and prizes awaits!

COST:

Each Singles Board costs $200. The board cost is typically split equally among players on the board. With 8 players, it would be $25 per person. With less than 8 players you would divide the amount equally between players. With only 4 players it would be $50 each. There are a number of variations, most acceptable. Please contact Nicole at 203-233-8907 if interested to run a board and for additional information.

The League Office will make every effort to keep everyone informed of upcoming singles boards as long as enough notice is provided by the person(s) running the boards.

IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO RUN SINGLES BOARDS AND NEED SOME ASSISTANCE, CONTACT THE LEAGUE OFFICE AND WE WILL BE GLAD TO HELP!

There is an 8-Ball Classic and a 9-Ball Shootout. Both programs have two qualifying windows. January 1 - June 15 qualify for Fall Regionals, which is normally held the first weekend in October. Players who win from June 16 - November 30 qualify for Spring Regionals, which is normally held the first weekend in March. Regionals is normally held at Snaps in East Windsor

Regional and National Championship levels of 8-Ball Classic and 9-Ball Shootout are separated into tiers by skill level:

8 Ball Classic has tiers for 2s & 3s combined and separate tiers for 4s, 5s, 6s, and 7s.

9-Ball Shootout has tiers for skill levels 1-3, 4-5, 6-7 & 8-9. At Regional & National level, you only play players within your own tier. To become a champion all you need to do is win your tier at the National Championship level. APA crowns nine singles champions each year!
